Muse

Poem

© 2022, Tanweer Dar

Sometimes she shines

Like the sun on a summer's day

Bright and unfiltered

As if she'll never go away

And then I cannot find her

Though I search with such labour

Like I'm being ghosted

As if I've fallen out of favour

I sit down to write

And no words will appear

Have I forgotten my mind

Or perhaps lost it, I fear

A canvas left blank

Reminds me of a cloudless sky

And the blazing summer sun

Beneath which thoughts dry

So I close my eyes

And imagine flying like a bird

There she is, my muse

Sleeping inside me, now stirred
