For my final blog post of 2021, I just want to wish all of my friends and readers a happy and peaceful holiday season.
Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I think that the message of peace on Earth and goodwill to all is an important and necessary one. The world seems more divided than it has been in a long time. Things aren't easy for a lot of people right now, and unfortunately there are those who are more than willing to exploit this rather than seeking to address the causes of it.
The holiday season can be expensive, and an endless barrage of advertising and promotion will try to convince you that it should be expensive; that Christmas is nothing without spending eye-watering amounts of money. Given that, for many, there may be little in the bank, it is especially pertinent to remind everyone that giving does not have to involve spending money. Spending time, spreading kindness, and sparing a thought are almost always more valuable than any wrapped up gift that cost a small fortune.
However you choose to spend this holiday season, I hope it is a safe and enjoyable one. Fill it with love, and fill it with people who care. That is all this world needs for it to be a wonderful place to inhabit.
