Robin
Poem

Alighting so gently upon a bough
The tiny robin turns to look at me
I smile as my eyes fall upon it now
Small, delicate, beautiful as can be
Evoking such immediate wonder
I marvel at the diminutive bird
Looking away I begin to ponder
How it is so deeply my soul is stirred
And so I take up my pencil to draw
The marvel which has enraptured me so
And with every soft feather and flaw
My fascination continues to grow
With time and with effort I recreate
That which art cannot hope to imitate
